Remodeling in Broken Arrow

Broken Arrow grew from a small town into Oklahoma's fourth-largest city between the 1970s and 2000s, after the Broken Arrow Expressway linked it to Tulsa. That means many homes here are now 20 to 50 years old. They're solid houses, but their builder-grade kitchens, laminate counters and fiberglass tub surrounds are ready for an update. Popular projects include new cabinets and quartz countertops, removing a wall to make room for an island, and replacing an oversized garden tub with a spacious walk-in shower in the primary bath.

Around Broken Arrow: the Rose District along downtown Main Street, and Ray Harral Nature Center.
